Girlfriend, I had the SAME problem you did with that anxiety. Michael fixed me. He can fix you too. It's WELL WORTH the money! Yes, I remember your post about your mom and dad -- and didn't I remark back then that I thought Michael could help you? He can, Sandy, believe me he can.
Interesting that you take Lomotil as a cautionary med; I use Equalactin for that. I take Lomotil when the D is in process and it seems to work then.
The Hyoscyamine, Donnatal, NuLev and Lomotil are all prescriptions; I got them from my doctor. My GI wouldn't give me Donnatal, but my regular doc did. Frankly, the Hyoscyamine doesn't work all that much for me. I usually go straight for the Donnatal -- but ONLY as a last resort. In other words, I have to be in pretty bad shape before I take anything other than Over-The-Counter stuff like Equalactin or Imodium. You wanted to know what the Hyoscyamine does? For me, not much, but it's supposed to act as an antispasmodic -- it works for a lot of people, just not me. You dissolve it under your tongue when the cramps come on, just like NuLev (which REALLY does nothing for me!). I saw Shell's post this afternoon in which she states her doc just doubled her prescription for Hyoscyamine, which she apparently is taking every day -- so it must work for her. You can post a message addressed to her and see what she has to say about the stuff.
You're right about the urgency thing. The last attack I had -- at the Post Office -- angered me when I finally RUSHED to the bathroom but very little came out. I got mad because I know I could have held that. It made me stop and think about what was going on with me.
When it happened the last time -- just last week -- I was at the antique shop when it hit, and I knew there were no bathrooms anywhere around (big sign on the bathroom door at the antique shop, "Employees ONLY" -- I hate that), but by the time I got back to the car, that horrible feeling of ugency totally left me, and I was able to drive home -- when I got home, I didn't have to go at all. Oh yeah, there's something else goin' on with me. You bet. (I need to return to Michael!)
Girlfriend, please check out the hypnotherapy. I know it would help you. Marilyn is Michael's U.S. contact, and she answers most of the posts in the hypno board -- you can ask her any question you want. She's a love. One thing Michael tells us is, "There are no demands or insistence." That's my mantra whenever I start feeling anxiety or rumblings down below.....
