Sarah, welcome to the migraine club!! Sorry you've got em too. I highly recommend the migraine forum at about.com. It's great! I take meclazine and it doesn't make me drowsy at all. In fact it's the ingredient in Dramamine II, the non-drowsy version.

I've never taken compazine, but two thoughts. One, sometimes side effects wear off within a week or two as you get used to the med. Two, I take some other meds that make me sleepy and discovered that if I split the dose between lunch time and bedtime I don't fall asleep at the computer the way I used to (not cool at work!!).

Good luck and if you join the migraine forum let me know. I'm lskpiano there. I'm glad you have a firm diagnosis. That's got to be a relief at least.

Oh, and yes you can have the dizziness and nausea even when your head doesn't hurt. There are four phases to migraines, prodrome, aura (only for some people), migraine and postdrome. Go read about it at about.com.
