I take Dramamine II, the non-drowsy kind. We buy the generic brand, it's called Meclazine. You might have to ask the pharmacist for it. It works on all kinds of dizziness and nausea, not just travel sickness.

Also, in a pinch, any antihistamine will help nausea and dizziness somewhat.

Oh, I just re-read your post and see that you don't like to take pills much. The traditional home remedy for nausea is ginger ale (or ginger tea) and soda crackers. Also helps to keep a little food in your tummy all the time because nausea is worse when your stomach is empty.

Oh, and there's something called BioBands that help by pressing on an acupressure point in your wrist. I've used them with good results.
