Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

My name is Sarah, I am not really new but I have not posted in at least 9 months. My doctor had told me before that he thought that I may have IBS. I bought Heather's books and fallowed the plan. I started feeling better and gradually stopped fallowing the plan. I never really had a lot of stomach pain so I figured that maybe I did not have IBS. I was feeling pretty good for almost a year (6 months of the diet).

About a month a go my stomach started getting queasy a lot. If I ate or didn't it was upset. Then about three weeks ago I was in the ER with stomach pain. If felt like labor pains! The said that there was nothing wrong and send me home. Then a few days later I was putting away laundry and I got so dizzy I thought for sure I was going to pass out. I went and laid down, but I was still dizzy and I started to get nauseas. I have seen my doctor but she said I need to learn to deal with it. I have been dizzy and nauseas for the last 3 weeks. I am also having pain in my stomach that comes and goes and alternating diarrhea and constipation. I have been lying in bed for 3 weeks and have not been able to work or care for my 3 year old.

I know that this is a long post but I wanted you all to have the whole story. My question is can the dizziness and nausea be related to IBS or is it something totally different? I have been told that I am not dehydrated; I don't have low blood pressure or low blood sugar. If this is not IBS related than I don't know what else to think. I gave my books to a friend and can not get them back so I am unable to look this up in the books.
