Actually, back in 1967, hubby and I went on the "Martinis & Whipped Cream" diet. It was pre-Atkins and pre-Scarsdale, but pretty much the same. Absolutely NO fruit or veggies, NO bread or pasta or rice -- well, no carbs! We ate dead animal carcass, like cow or pig (ew) and plenty of cheese -- as much as we wanted.
Hubby and I have never been big meat eaters, so we ate mostly cheese. LOTS OF CHEESE! We had lots of wine and Jack (of course), and yes, even martinis. I made tons of chocolate pudding with milk and plenty of whipped cream -- yep, the real stuff.
I lost 30 pounds. And was SOOOO constipated! I never had that before (or since), and I gotta tell ya, it HURT. Finally, after weeks of not going, I sat on the pot and forced it. I was in there for at least an hour -- my legs were going numb from sitting there. When I finally went, Heather, it was painful, VERRRRRY painful.
I delivered a football!
Never again.
