I am new to the board, having been recently diagnosed with IBS. I think I have had a mild case of it for at least the last few years, but it's really been a problem since in the last few months. Anyway, on to my point...I did a search on this message board and I couldn't find much about Iberis amara, otherwise known as candytuft or "clown's mustard'. After doing a lot of research online about IBS it seems that this is huge in Europe (especially Germany), but relatively unknown in the USA. The only commercially available form of this, that I could find, is called Iberogast. Iberogast has a few other herbal elements in it too, such as peppermint, which I have found to be moderately effective in alleviating my symptoms. I think I'm going to start taking it based on the research that I found. I am just interested to know if anyone has any experience with this stuff?
Here are the articles I found. It seems that Iberogast has been researched quite extensively, making it's obscurity even more baffling. Maybe it's the drug companies keeping it down :
