Applesauce is fine anytime, but I wouldn't use it as a base for a meal. I generally go by a serving as a rule of thumb. Ie a cup of rice, your 2 slices of bread, a baked potato, . That is usually enough for me. Try a bit more than what you're having and see if it makes a difference. How are you eating your insolubles? Are they cooked,mashed, pureed? It REALLY helps make them more digestible.
