I'm strugglin' -- you bet I am. However, it has nothing to do with the IBS diet. As my doc told me, "calories in, calories out." If you're eating more than you're burning off, you'll gain weight. "You can gain weight on celery!" I've heard it all from him.
Many people here have the opposite results from ours -- they're losing weight on the program. Some have lost 40-50 pounds!
I'm seeing a nutritionist on Wednesday, and I'm anxious to hear what she has to say, but I don't think she'll be able to shed any more light on the problem than I've already known or heard. At my age, the metabolism has just come to a screeching halt. That means I have to eat less and work out more. I've tried cutting my portions down, still eating soluble fiber every few hours, but instead of a whole potato roll, I have a half. Oh, and I've cut out all sugar.
Fun stuff, eh?
