From, once again, Nat'l. Inst. of Allergy & Infectious Disease pub: "Adverse Reactions To Foods", 1984, p. 107: "Oxalate and anthraquinone glycosides cause CORROSIVE GASTROENTERITIS which, if severe, lead to DEATH. Rhubarb, spinach, sorrel, beet leaves, tea and cocoa contain large quantities of these substances..." I would certainly avoid large quantities of these!
