Some people with IBS have zero tolerance for any dairy component, including small amounts of whey or casein (which are both dairy proteins). But, a lot of us with IBS do just fine with small amounts of casein, and in things like rice or soy cheeses it won't bother us. I'd try a little of that cream cheese in a low fat, high soluble fiber recipe and see how you do. More likely than not you'll be okay...but unfortunately there is a chance that you'll have zero tolerance.
