Hi everyone I'm new to this board,well kinda I've been reading it for months now but I'm always shy to write something.So here goes. I have had IBS since I was a baby. Doctors had no idea for years what was wrong with me. They just gave me some pills from age 5 on up and as I became a teenager they told me I was crazy and take these nerve pills. But then new things kept happening to me and I was told I need to see a phyciatrist and the doctors would set up appointments and I wouldn't go! then 15 years later I found out I wasn't crazy I had lupus. Wow that and IBS was the worst I could hear.for 3 or 4 years now I have had syptoms of MS which is common among lupus patients to have both diseases at the same time.I do not see doctors anymore They just fill you full of pills which only cause other problems in the body and just cover up the symptoms that I do have. From the time I was 17 I've done so much research That now I'm an open book on all kinds of health problems.Dont get me wrong if I was having a heartattack everyone knows to get me to the nearest hospital. I'm not that crazy!!!!!!! I've had everything removed from my gall bladder to a hysterectomy. I'm 40 years old now and that is another shock to my system. I no how you all feel. I've been unable to use the bathroom my whole life and I get so bloated that I look like I'm 6 months pregnant for two weeks straight or more and I can't breath well during it. See I go anywhere from 4-6 weeks without using the bathroom and I follow the strictist diet anyone could follow. I can eat to help my lupus or I can eat for my IBS and a long time ago I chose to eat for my IBS. I just happened to find this web sight a few months ago and I noticed that with all my research I came to the same conclusion many many years ago as heather did!!!!!! I know it's hard to have this stuff everyday of your life but it does help to hear other people talking about there problems. I'm sorry this was so long I was just letting everyone know who I was!!!!!!!! michele
