Don't get me started on doctors!
Courtney, you found soy "ice cream"? How much have you been eating of the stuff? Yeah, it's great, but it's still high in fat. You have to eat ONLY a VERY LITTLE amount -- and after soluble fiber -- it's over our 25% limit. If I have too much of my infamous mocha fudge, I'll get D also -- and, yes, cramps too.
Why are doctors so unsympathetic? I'm beginning to think it's their frustration with the whole rotten system of governing control from the health plan administrators, and they take it out on their patients. It's really the patients who suffer -- I don't think doctors realize that. I had a great doctor once who was caring and concerned about all his patients; he helped me A LOT. But he got fed up so much with the whole health care administrative system that he closed down his practice and moved away to a small town back east where they apparently don't have such governing control over the medical business and where he could provide more personal patient-doctor care. Makes me tempted to move back there myself!
Okay, there I go rambling again. I told you not to get me started on doctors!
Courtney, you WILL feel better "for a full day one day" as you put it. Believe me. It takes time. It's taken me 3 months. We're lucky; we can benefit from Heather's experience. Think of how long it must have taken HER!
Don't be intimidated by your doctor. Hound him if you have to (until you can find another). Caring for you is his job. He is paid to do it. MAKE him.
