Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I was on here last week and got a lot of great advice. I started eating what I was supposed to and I felt so much better. I filled my Bentyl prescription and started taking it. My doctor told me to take it every other day. I took it the first day and the next day as soon as I ate my bagel for breakfast, I had to run to the bathroom, D. So, I took it again after that. And the next day too bc I was not feeling good at all and felt D. coming on. So, today I was not going to take it but now I have been to the bathroom three times. I am at work and this is so embarassing to run to the bathroom every ten minutes. Do I need to take this until I am "stable" daily and then alternate days? I thought I was stable bc I was fine for a few days and eating right and drinking tea and water. But maybe not. I am so frustrated at this point and dont know what to do. My doctor is not exactly understanding either. He just dismisses me everytime I am in there and writes a new prescription. I know I need to find a better doctor first. I feel that is very important. This is so hard at times and I feel like I am the only one who feels like this. But I know I am not the only one. On the brighter side I found soy icecream and it is WONDERFUL. But even that doesnt make me feel any better. I just want to feel better for a whole day one day.
