Yes, warm is fine, but boiling hot like with tea is trickier...

it's best to add the Acacia first like Jen does, or dissolve the Acacia in a bit of cool water then add that to your hot tea, or let your tea cool a bit and then add the Acacia. If you do add it to the boiling hot liquid, it will eventually dissolve and it won't thicken the liquid, but you'd have to stir it really, really well and let it sit, then stir it some more. Easier to just add it to the water before you heat it.
