Can't say as how I've ever had a problem with frozen veggies. I put peas in almost everything because (1) I like them, (2) they're convenient, and (3) they're REAL high in insoluble fiber content. When I make rice, I throw in some peas. When I make soup, ditto. Stews. I even put frozen peas in Kree's Mac & Cheese recipe. YUM! Sometimes I even eat them with nothing but some soy butter.
OF COURSE I always have the soluble fiber first -- a roll, slice of French bread, half a bagel -- even if there's a soluble fiber with the peas (noodles, rice or potatoes, mac & cheese, whatever).
Frozen broccoli doesn't bother me either, although I wouldn't go near fresh broccoli. (But that's probably just a mental issue since I've had such bad attacks after my fave fresh broccoli salad.)
Maybe I'm naive, but I trust what it says on the ingredient lists; if something isn't on that list, I assume it's not in there. The ingredient list on the half package of frozen peas in my freezer says "peas and salt." That's it. I don't know how they can sneak anything else in there.
