I agree with the calories in and calories out. Like you I'm also battling gaining weight. I'm upping my calorie count and I have seen improvement. There is a product called Balance, it's got all the safe ingredients we can have. However it does have 3g of fat and the dietery fiber is 3g. So I haven't tried it but it is diary free and made of soy. I too chicken because of the dietary fiber count. I'm IBS D and I don't do well with high fiber diet. You could also try rice protien powder, it's a alternative to whey or soy powders which will help with weight gain. I been eating the pancake recipe from the board and waffles stuff like that can give you a little weight on too. Smoothies can help too.
Don't skip any meals and always snack throughout the day.
Probiotics can help you regain good flora, and help you with weight also, meaning you won;t gain weight from it but you'll feel generally better and you'll eat. To answer you question don't do the ensure and boost they have bad stuff in there to aggravate the symptoms, I tried them too, when I was sick and boy the bathroom liked me

If you haven't started a blance diet using Heather's or one that works for you, consider it. Get yourself balanced out again, it will get better. Take care.
