So sorry you're having a problem with weight gain. My problem is just the opposite! So.... maybe I can share with you something I enjoy that's probably part of the reason I can't lose!
My doctor just lost 40 pounds, so he thinks EVERYONE should be able to lose 40 pounds! GRRRRRR. Anywho.... he keeps telling me, "calories in, calories out." That works for weight gain and weight loss. If I take in more calories than I expend, I'm going to gain weight. If you take in less calories than you expend, you're going to lose weight. Makes sense, right?
Okay, bear with me here ...
Do you like chocolate? There are a lot of great recipes here -- well, actually in the other board, the recipe board -- and they're low in fat, but some of them are high in CALORIES. Take, for example, a recipe I posted the other day -- Chocolate Banana Frostie. Now, that recipe has only 8% fat, which is incredible for a yummy chocolate dessert. However, it's got a lot of calories -- over 350. So if you took IN those 350+ calories, but expended only -- oh, say 100 of them, you're got a 200 calorie weight gain!
Now if I can just find a way to RESIST that frostie! .....
Sorry, I can't help you with Ensure. I've never had it (and obviously don't need it!).
Glad to have you on board, Abby!
