Antidepressants and IBS

Sorry, I Don't know if this is the right place to post this but I thought maybe I could get some advice.
Has anyone here had any luck with SSRI antidepressants (i.e. Paxil, Prozac) helping their IBS? I was on 60mg of Paxil for about a year and a half for depression, but I foudn that it really helped my IBS. Unfortunately, I had a lot of nasty side effects and tremdendous weight gain so I deicded that as soon as I got the depression under control I would get off the Paxil. Well, as I started to lower my dosage I found the IBS symptoms returned with a vengeance. I'm down to 5mg and trying desparetely to get off it completely, but I'm concerned because of how bad the IBS has gotten.
Obviously, I don't want to spend the rest of my life on anti-depressants just to control the gut, but I don't know if other things alone will do the trick when my body has been used to the drugs.
Any advice or people with similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Kelly
