SSRI antidepressants and IBS-D       02/23/04 04:58 PM Edit Reply Quote mickeymouse Reged: 02/02/03 Posts: 431 Loc: Canada I am IBS-C, however I am on Effexor, and it has greatly reduced the number of attacks/pains I have had from stress, which was my worst enemy. One of the side effects is constipation, so for me it has made my constipation worse, but that can be controlled. However, it may be beneficial for you. I hope HanSolo will reply to you, she is IBS-D and on Effexor? I believe...she may be able to tell you how it works for her.
