Re: SSRI antidepressants and IBS-D       02/23/04 02:37 PM Edit Reply Quote tuxedocat Reged: 02/09/04 Posts: 279 Loc: Ithaca, NY I take Lexapro for depression and it hasn't had any effect, good or bad, on my IBS as far as I can tell. I developed IBS after I started the Lexapro, but I don't think that the meds exacerbated the IBS or in any way brought it on. I also take nortriptyline (tricyclic) for chronic headaches and have been for years. So my answer to the poll is that neither have worked for my IBS, though they are effective for depression and headaches! -------------------- --Julie Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
