jessie, you're not alone...you describe my IBS exactly! I'm IBS-D, got diagnosed about a year ago, and have been faithfully (well, almost) following Heather's diet ever since. I used to have bad D attacks once a week to every other week and now they happen much less frequently but on semi-bad days I'm in the bathroom at work 3 or 4 times in the morning and the afternoon's usually fine. On good days I go once in the morning and sometimes again at lunch or dinner time. I have also wondered whether these are the same old attacks, just better because of the diet and fiber. Right now, I'm mainly IBS-pain, IBS-urgency, IBS-hemmorhoids, and IBS-too many BMs in the morning!
I also have had a problem with loosing weight. I'm 5'6.5" and right now fluctuate btw 110 and 115 pounds. In highschool (~7 years ago) I was fairly steady at 120 and gained some during and after college (up to ~130). Now, ever since IBS problems and the diet I feel I'm too thin (I'm small boned as it is, genetically thin, and athletic). I'm actually getting kinda nervous about it, but I'm eating 3 fairly large meals a day with large snacks inbetween and I've been adding avocado, peanut butter, etc to get more fat.
So, you're not alone! And, I'm so glad I'm not alone! This board is awesome!
