Hi!
I've seen three different nutritionnists since last summer. (I didn't know Heather's web site back then) The first nutritionnist I went to was supposed to be very good with IBS questions (according to her ad in the yellow pages). She turned out to be sort of a freak cause she told me I should stop eating things that I realized after I could eat, they were just not "healthy enough" for her!!! For exemple, she said I shouldn't eat Rice Krispies cause it was almost only air in them.... I don't care!!! All I want to know is if it's gonna make me sick!!
The second one I went to was really good. She was hired by the IBS Association of Québec. She gave me really good advice and recommended another nutritionnist who lived closest to where I live. This third one is fantastic! She made me try different foods that were supposedly "illegal" and it turned out going quite well.
My advice to you would be to see a nutritionnist but to choose her very carefully. Maybe there's a support group in your area where they can recommand one to you.
Meanwhile, I know what you're going through cause I always feel that way when I'm away from home.
You can try: bananas, baby food (fruits), soy puddings, applesauce, rice crackers, carrot juice (if you like it, I personnaly don't - but that's just me...), rice and salmon, sandwiches (you can probably tolerate one slice of tomatoes in them), etc.
Nutritionnists are usually very good to solve this type of problem, I wish you good luck!
