I went to the GI Endoscopy clinic today for my appointment. It was interesting, to say the least. They suspect that I may have IBS, but the head of the Digestive Diseases department came and talked to me as well - she thinks that I may have a condition called gastroparisis. I have to take a GIANT pill that is full of what looks like little plastic washers...it's for a "sitz test", which I guess is where they X-ray you while those little plastic things make their way through your system. I then have to go (that same day) for a gastric emptying study, where they have you eat what they call a "radioactive sandwich" (Ewwww) and then do x-rays to check out your motility time.

This is the very first time anyone has told me that I MIGHT have something other than IBS. They're not ruling it out, but it also appears that it might be something else.

Have you ever heard of this condition? Any and all advice/answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again, Heather.
