Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi I'm new to the boards. In November I purchased Eating for IBS and I have tried to eliminate all trigger foods and added soluable fiber to my diet. That seemed to really help. But now I'm experiencing weight gain. I have always struggled with my weight. I lost about 60lbs. when I was 20. I kept it off for 10 years. then I got pregnant,gained 40lbs. and now my little one is almost 3 and I can't get the weight off. Before I became pregnant i had Ibs symptoms but they weren't as bad during my pregnancy. They returned 6 months after my baby was born. My doctor told me to have a colonoscopy done. I had one and they found a large polyp. After having that removed my symptoms disappeared. So at the beginning of 2003 I tried the Atkins diet and lost about 15lbs. But around september 2003 my IBS returned. So now I'm watching the pounds return.
I really want to lose the weight, but all good eating plans to lose weight include salads(I don't tolerate at all anymore),raw veggies and little or no soluable fiber. Everything is High fiber.Which I have a hard time tolerating.
Does anyone have any ideas for me?
One more question? Does anyone pay the day after a trigger food is eaten? I usually pay the day after a trigger food is eaten instead of the same day. Does that sound normal?
