Oral and IV contrasts for CT scan       08/13/13 09:57 AM Edit Reply Quote Candy07 Reged: 08/13/13 Posts: 329 Hello All, I had to drink almost a glass of clear, tasteless CT scan contrast in water and the end of July. On the day of the test, I also drank a few sips of a lemonade flavored second oral contrast. I also had an IV contrast, which I think involves iodine. Ever since then, I have had frequent bowel movements as well as significant bowel cramps. Also the texture of my bowel movements has changed to much softer. Has anyone else experienced this?? If so. PLEASE write and let me know what worked for you to calm your gut down. Thanks a LOT!! -------------------- Originally diagnosed with IBS-C in Spring, 2008. During spring to fall of 2008, had at least 10 acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs. IBS went into remission. IBS returned in late July 2013 after taking 2 oral contrasts for a CT scan for cancer follow up. Had more acupuncture with different practitioner in summer 2014, but received little benefit.
