Welcome to the board,

It is always a dilemma as to what to do when invited out to dinner. I have severe IBS and I cannot risk eating trigger foods. I found over the years that while my friends intentions are good they aren't knowledgeable enough about my eating habits to prepare a guaranteed safe meal. As a result I ask if they can prepare for me a grilled chicken breast, rice and boiled carrots. I even offer to bring the chicken breast. Of course this approach does not work for everyone but I have had good success with it over the years
