Hey! I'm the new guy! I found this site a few months ago, it has been a HUGE help but I am still having some issues.
Here is a short description of whats going on with me.....I have had IBS all my life I think, when I was younger, as young as 9 or 10 I remember getting horrible cramps under my belly button, they were really painful and diarrhea would usually ensue after trying to "go" several times...I always thought that it was cause I was eating to much candy or sweets. My parents thought the same thing, I have a really BIG sweet tooth!  Over the years the pain and diarrhea would come and go and I could never figure out what was causing it other than I ate to much "junk"....I never thought much of it. Well I am now 34 and about 2 years ago I quit smoking and since then all hell has been breaking loose in my stomach....things are definitely not good and I cant seem to figure out how to get it under control again. I feel like I am allergic to everything I eat....on a daily basis I have a sick and nauseas feeling in my stomach after I eat, within 3-4 hours of eating I get so bloated I look like I am 9 months prego, its painful to the point sometimes I cant even stand up straight. The bloating now seems to be the main issue I am having, my BM's are anything but normal, somedays they are fine, somedays I dont go at all and others are a mix of everything you can imagine from small and broken to soft or hard. I started taking acacia fiber and peppermint capsules in the morning and sometimes feel like I am getting better but then the daily bloat will come back almost like clockwork everyday at teh same time, roughly 3-4 hours after I get done eating....is it still IBS?
