Please Help! 14 yr old with IBS

My 14 yr old son has suffered with chronic constipation all his life, has been hospitalized 3 times with an impacted bowel. He suffers constantly with severe abdominal pain. Multiple tests have ruled out bowel diseases and he is not lactose intolerant. The pediatric GI doctors keep saying more fiber but the problem continues. I hate seeing my child suffer and have decided to try the IBS Diet. I have read both of Heather's books and studied the website and I am feeling VERY overwhelmed. As a single mom who is employed full-time, I don't have much time to plan and cook meals from scratch everyday. I want to do all I can to help my son but this plan doesn't seem managable for my situation. Is the IBS Diet really complicated or am I missing something?
