Oh, that's such bad luck! I could more than willingly never look at another piece of meat again as long as I can eat my fish. My favourites are salmon, trout and mackerel. And pilchards on toast are yummy too. I haven't found a fish yet I'm not keen on and none of it seems to bother me at all. I like swordfish too. Unfortunately, our good old Scottish (farmed) salmon has a bit of bad press at the moment as its full of deadly toxins. But then again, so is just about everything else in the foodchain, right?
I know when I go out to a restaurant, I can always eat fish, and it usually is served with new potatoes and veg, so it's a safe meal for me. I just have to try not to think about dessert (especially if everyone else is eating it).
I also think that fish is an especially good food for me as it's my 'ancestral' food. My ancestors were Scottish and Irish - natural fishermen who would have eaten huge amounts of fresh fish on this little island.
