You might want to choose a different fiber supplement. Metamucil contains psyllium which is not a pure soluble fiber supplement. It is 33% insoluble fiber and 67% soluble fiber. You might have better results with a 100% soluble fiber supplement such as Benefiber or Heather's tummy fiber. Also, if you buy a soluble fiber supplement that is in powder form you can control the amount you take whereas with tablets and capsules it is more difficult to control the dosage. The neat thing about soluble fiber supplements is that they dissolve in fluids so you can drink them or you can mix them in with you oatmeal and other foods.
