"Somebody" (looks at elephant in the room) basically told me that my continuing IBS symptoms were my own fault because despite doing an EFI+FODMAP diet I was lazy and slacking since
1) I shop at a grocery store and purchase my own bread, cereal, chicken broth, pretzel/snacks, cooked vegetables, and juice
2) I use store bought condiments like mustard (instead of having plain chicken or making my own mustard).

Personally, I think dieting is important, and I do diet hard.
But I draw the line when somebody has the audocity to tell me that if I want relief I have to relocate into a bubble and revolve my life 24/7 around being a hunter-gather and making my own food...not my own dinner...as in my own
-bread/cereal/fruit/vegetables/chicken broth/sauce

I think anybody who is such a wuss (and yes, if you can't eat store bought bread and must avoid commericial goods, you are) is totally out of line.
I think using a slow cooker for OATMEAL is the definition of being a paranoid hypocondrate.

So I would like to do a poll

How Far Do You Go In IBS Prevention
I follow EFI
I follow EFI+FODMAP, but I do occasionally eat out, make some of my own meals, but buy regular grocery products
I follow EFI/FODMAP, I rarely eat out, usually make my own meals, but I do buy grocery products like bread/broth/cereal
I follow EFI/FODMAP, I never eat out, I make all my own meals, but I do buy grocery products like bread/broth/cereal
I follow EFI/FODMAP, I never eat out, I make all my own meals, and I am afraid of commercial products hurting my tummy so I make everything (bread/juice/cereal/rice)

View the results for this poll
