My mom was making me some brownies over the weekend when I went over there for dinner. She asked me a good question that I don't know the answer to or don't remember the answer. Why is that when we bake we are told to use unsweetened applesauce and unsweetened cocoa powder? Why unsweetened? I know that sugar isn't a trigger for most people. Is it because artificial sweeteners can be used which is a trigger? Also why the unbleached flour? I always follow these guidelines but I'm not sure what the reason is. If anyone could answer this that would be great!
