Minor ingredients
Is it necessary to avoid potential IBS triggers if they appear as minor ingredients in a product? For example:
Cream of Tomato Soup: Tomatoes (84%), Water, Vegetable Oil, Sugar, Modified Cornflour, Salt, Dried Skimmed Milk, Milk Proteins, Cream, Spice Extracts, Herb Extract, Citric Acid
Oat Granola: Oat Flakes, Sugar, Sultanas, Rapeseed Oil, Coconut, Hazelnuts, Honey, Sesame Seeds, Sunflower Seeds.
I know that the EFI advocates avoiding dairy, therefore, is the dried skimmed milk, milk proteins and cream in the above soup likely to be problematic even in these small quantities.
Secondly, following the FODMAP diet, honey is to be excluded. There is honey in the above cereal (also sultanas-potentially problematic?) and coconut, that I believe, is high in fat and should be avoided on the EFI?
Any help would be appreciated
