They have since then edited their post, (guess they knew they were wrong), so I have had to edit mine in response. I saw two different GP's years ago with no success, so in recent years I have self-referred to several different GI docs, and skipped the GPs, and my insurance allows me to do this. I have had better results doing it this way. For you, it would depend on your insurance, your out of pocket costs, and whether you need a referral from a GP.
