For those of you following the EFI & FODMAP diet; sweet potato, generally, I believe, considered safe on both diets, may not be suitable for people sensitive to mannitol. In the 2009 publication by Muir, et al: J. Agric. Food Chem, 2009, 57(2)556-565, found that sweet potatoes have a small, but measureable, amount of mannitol in them.
