A quick background: A few months ago, I was in an eating disorder treatment facility for anorexia (which probably caused the IBS and was also exacerbated by the IBS - tricky to have a normal relationship with food when it gives you pain, as I am sure you all understand). Anyway, while I was in there, the post-BM spasm was wayyyy milder than it is now that I'm out of treatment. One factor might be that I had less stress then, but I also am wondering if the fact that I was eating a pretty insane amount of food (a weight-gain diet) meant that the gut couldn't go into as strong spasm because there was always stuff in there acting as a buffer. I am now eating a very adequate weight-maitenance diet, but since the spasm is so much worse, I am wondering if my gut needs to be kept more full in order to damper the spasm. So I am thinking I should increase my SF supplement. I am currently taking 1 tablespoon at breakfst and 1 at dinner. So maybe 1 more at lunch to start? Any thoughts?
