I'm scheduled for a PET scan next week to check for possible throat cancer and instructions are to eat no carbs or sugar the day before and nothing the morning of the test. I'm terrified that between the generalized stress of the test and possible bad findings and no soluble fiber for 24 hours I will develop my usually well controlled IBS symptoms and be unable to go through with the test. Has anyone else gone through this without developing incapacitating symptoms?
