I have never heard of pea protein. IMO rice is the easiest to digest vs egg, soy, nut, and especially whey. I looked back to my protein journal notes and have this data. chicken breast 30g fish 6g per ounce egg white 4g tofu 1/2c 20g 1oz 2.3g beans 1/2c 10g soy beans 1/2c 14g PB 2T 8g almonds 1/4c 8g peanuts 1/4c 9g pepitas (pumpkin seed kernels) 1/4c 19g vegetables 2g per cup potato 9g per 8oz cereal 4g per 1/2c turkey 1c 40g 1c 'burger' crumbles 22g 6 shrimp 18g trail mix 1c 20g barley 1c 19g bulgar wheat 1c 17g
There are a lot of food choices to add protein! Then you can keep the supplement powder down to 1 serving per day which will keep the gut happy.
Here was one day of my diet journal protein smoothie with soy milk and fruit 20g with fiber PB toast raisins 2 graham crackers 14g luna bar 10g odwalla bar 6g veggies and dip 8g salmon, rice and asparagus 26g choc soy milk with fiber 7g equals 91 grams and that wasn't trying very hard.
Yes any protein shake can make you feel yucky but you might be able to still use it. I recommend trying to improve your diet to have more fruits, veggies, lean protein and grains to help your C and B. Really helping the C makes you less B so working on that good fiber amount will help and a good, healthy diet is where to get it.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
