I think what Jason was attempting to say here was that if he could not eat anything, he was going to lose his life from malnutrition. I doubt he was talking about deliberate suicide.
Frankly, sometimes too much info on these boards confuse people and they then become fearful.
What many need (myself included) is simply practical advice, loving understanding, encouragement, and not a lot of scientific evidence around this and that. Such info is already posted on Heather's info research.
No offense intended, Syl, but sometimes you seemingly get too much into technical info that even doctors don't read. Why would a patient want to read all of this? It can freak them out!
I'm not being mean here, yet I know the path of the pain that comes along with IBS in EVERY way. Sorry if I have wounded your ego in posting this truth.
People need friends and encouragement on these boards... i.e. practical information, love, and understanding... including what others have found helpful in overcoming current symptoms... not necessarily all of the 'medical lingo and studies' that make them more anxious than they already are.
