Biofeedback vs. Hypnosis       12/18/09 10:05 AM Edit Reply Quote PMartin Reged: 08/05/08 Posts: 140 Loc: Niagara Region I got started on hypnotherapy but it requires a lot of time (additional audio and reading materials besides the session) and $ (it would have run close to $1000 for 6 sessions which was the minimum recommendation...I did 2) neither of which I have enough. Especially when you have to consider that it's not a guaranteed cure. In fact, it seems like (in my case anyway) the hypnotist was making sure she had an "out" and covered herself by saying "it was all up to me whether it worked or not." But of course she would still take my $. Anyway, the biofeedback seems a little more practical and substantial; not so hokey. I say this too because while i accept the possibility of Mindbody connection, I feel the stress in my life is just standard everyday life and not this big mystery that needs to be uncovered as the hypnotist was trying to do. -------------------- IBS-D.
