Thoughts on what this Juice Plus lady says?

I emailed her and asked her if she thought it would bother my ibs and such, but here are her replies to my emails.

I hear in your words how challenging nutrition can be when we suffer from such painful, uncomfortable and inconvenient symptoms. It can also be so confusing with all the conflicting information out there. Heather is really the expert on IBS but I will tell you what I have gleaned from my own personal story. IBS symptoms are constipation, bloating and gas, cramping and then a lot of discomfort at certain times of my monthly cycle. We don't do testimonials with JuicePlus+, and I am not speaking as a medical professional since I am not, but I will just share my personal experience.

I have simplified our nutrition, both to give me back peace of mind from the constant sifting through conflicting information, and to keep our family nutrition effective AND affordable! I do not take any vitamins and have come to truly trust in Whole food nutrition and the Whole Food boost of JP+. I take their fruits, veggies and berry blend as well as their protein powder as my gentle morning smoothie each day. The only other thing I add is flaxmeal for the Omega and fiber and of course drink plenty of filtered water. I used to take all kinds of things and the simplicity has really eased the stress and financial burden for me and I have found over time, my digestion regulates--not constipated or on the diarrhea end of the spectrum.

After years of trying all kinds of things and feeling overwhelmed and confused I have come to rely on the SIMPLEST possible approach to nutrition. I look at how my body was designed to be 'fueled' and the 'fuel' that was designed to help nourish and heal my body. For me, that's fruits and veggies, clean meats, fish and poultry and nuts, beans, seeds, etc. I hear you--when our bodies are out of balance, I can't always eat all these things. I take it gently and slowly when my body starts reacting. I am certainly NOT a perfect eater. I like sweets and so do have treats too.

This is my personal belief--our bodies get 'out of balance' from less than ideal nutrition, environmental factors, stress and our own specific bodies 'challenge' areas--those places that seem to 'flare up' or react under stress. For me, it's my digestive system and some other things. Health is a balancing act, a spectrum that we continue to make the best choices with--it's not static. I believe Body, Mind, Heart and Spirit are ALL important and when we have a strong imbalance in our bodies (like IBS), making positive choices and changes in all these areas, one little step at a time, is what helps us return to a more naturally balanced place. I have found that keeping my Spiritual Health FIRST has made ALL the difference in the world.

What I have found in the 5 years I've taken JuicePlus+ is a level of stability and consistancy in my eating, digestion, mood and my weight that I hadn't experience since I was a small child (I'm 45). I take almost no medications at this point and did my first triathalon a few months ago. I walk daily and do water exercise several times a week. This is my belief after all these years. Here's a couple quotes that really makes sense to me...

"Unlike drugs, nutrients do not have rapid effects. No quick fix. The business of nutrition is to build a better body. This process has to wait on nature to turn over body cells. A blood cell lasts 60-120 days. In 3-4 months your whole blood supply is completely replaced. When you start feeding it better, you have to wait on your body to grow new, improved cells." Dr. Michael Colgan, Author Optimum Sports Nutrition

"It is whole foods - especially fruits and vegetables - that pack the disease preventing wallop. That's because they harboor a whole array of compounds that have never seen the inside of a vitamin bottle for the simple reason that scientists have not, until very recently, even known they existed, let alone brewed them into pills." Newsweek, April 1997

Please let me know if you would like me to find the Beach Body coaches email address so you can ask her information about their vitamins. I also have a CD about Whole Food Nutrition and JP+ I could mail to you, if that would be of help. God Bless, Katie
