This shows the link of IBS with mental stuff. For some months now I get nauseated whenever I have a sharp pain- like something falling on my toe or knocking my knee into something. I get a wave of nausea with the pain. It is interesting.

My mom used to get yucky a lot from her IBS. She would sleep way in and then say she had been all nauseated and had nightmares and been sick through the night. She could never figure out if the nausea triggered bad dreams or the bad dreams made her nauseated. I wasn't sure what to make of her recurring problem.

The thing I have noticed now is a streak of bad mood (blue or crabby) coincides with a bad IBS streak of spasms, bloating and lots of pain. Thursday evening wasn't good for me; it was depressing and irritating and at the same time I was getting terrible bloating and pain. I have had both the sour mood and the pain since. So which one brings on the other? My gut is awful today and I was in a good mood until I got to work and remembered how awful work was yesterday. I haven't even eaten dinner yet. It is just so strange how these streaks come on. I am trying to understand it better.

--------------------
IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
