The peppermint can definitely cause a flare in acid reflux. I used to take it as well, but the GERD was too bad! I even take protonix and the reflux was just too much for me to handle! It's good to take it before every meal, like the directions say, but if it is causing this, you may want to check out some of the posts about the peppermint caps.
