Hi - I am new to this site and just ordered some fennel tea. I have had IBS for about 5 years. After several tests and diagnosis and being unable to tolerate doctors meds, I started taking acidophilus. One tab per day. After a couple of months I was attack free! Now, when I say "attack" I mean 8-10 hours of crippling pain I compare to childbirth. During the attack free years, I still suffered some D and bloating, but basically ok.
Last Tuesday night I had an attack, one of the worst ever. The difference is that I am still suffering from gas/bloating that used to subside much sooner after the initial attack. I spent 3 days on the BRAT diet and just yesterday ate some white fish for protein.
I upped my acidophilus to 2 caps per day and am hoping that helps. Anyone else have any ideas/stories on acidophilus?
I really thought these attacks were over
