Thanks for the suggestion, Kappy. I read about that laxative and found that it works by drawing water back to the colon. But my bowel movements are not dry and hard; they're sticky and soft, just like brownie batter, even when they've been sitting in my colon for days on end. This is what Chinese medicine calls "cold constipation." One of the functions of the colon is to draw water out of the stool, so in me, that's not happening. This, combined with the fact that I have almost no peristalsis, tells me that the colon isn't even functioning. It's practically dead. Only something that jump-starts my nervous system (like adderall, caffeine, stress from public speaking) causes my colon to function long enough to eliminate at least some of what's in there.
