Coffee might clean you out today, but tomorrow, it may send the colon into a frenzy. It may make you feel as if your intestines are in knots. I had to learn this the hard way. I used to drink coffee habitually, all day long! Now, I'm lucky to have a sip and not be doubled over. I did drink some this morning, and (knock on wood) I'm okay right now. Most of the times, however, it will stimulate the colon so badly that it will "lock up" or revolt against the rest of my body!
Try Miralax. It is an OTC non-stimulant laxative. It doesn't work immediately, but if you take it in morning about an hour before breakfast, you should have a BM. Give it a day or two as well. My doctor has prescribed it to me for everyday treatment, and it usually works like a charm, unless i just completely overeat and gorge myself in unhealthy foods.
