Is it possible for an SFS to stop working?

I've been taking Benefiber twice a day or a generic equivalent for about 4 years now. Both worked well for me very well for awhile, so I'm confident it's not because I switched between the two. I have not changed my diet recently, either.

Lately, however, my bowel habits have changed, and I wondered if the SFS could have anything to do with it, if my body just got used to it.

I am stable, and until a couple of months ago, I used to "go" every morning. Now, it's more like every three or four days, and while it's not quite what I'd call an attack, it is more like diarrhea. The thing is, I don't really feel bloated or constipated. I just don't have to go. I'm not worried, just a bit puzzled. Has my system just readjusted or might it be time to switch SFS's?
