Bevrs, Thanks for all the good info. Yes, yes, yes to fiber..(I agree with you)..in fact for me the more, the better!!! I think I range somewhere between 30-40 grams daily. It sounds a lot to some folks but it is about the amount that keeps me feeling good and as regular as I need to be. I'm one of those (do I dare mention it here?) that has a night cap of a couple of teaspoons of Konsyl in a ton of water just before bed. Granted it is pure psyllium and if I took it during the day I'd look like the Goodyear blimp but at night, asleep, who cares if I look like a beached whale? By morning the bloat is gone..then it's other forms of soluble fiber taken throughout the day.

I've heard good things about Flagyl, but so far, knock on wood, I haven't needed it. I just want to keep it that way!

So far I have a great Gastro.....head of the dept. of a major med. center here in SoCal. Caring, and a listener. I saw a few others before him and weren't impressed...............so didn't go back after the initial consult.

Since the docs can't agree whether we should or shouldn't, can or can't eat the seeds or nuts I say it's ALL up to us to decide! Go with your gut instincts so to speak. Knowing before I was diagnosed with the diver that seeds were a no-no I have this mind set that makes me think twice before eating anything with them. Tomatoes is the ONE thing I don't care about and eat away, but strawberries, forget it. My husband said that when he was a little boy the seeds on the outsides of strawberries reminded him of razor blades. I never forgot that....and it has certainly affected me now with the diver.

As to the nuts, well.............my THREE docs (can you imagine I have three.....GP, Alt. med. GP, and the gastro) ALL tell me to stay away from the nuts, but mostly because I don't have a gall bladder and can't process fats.

Thanks again................Ms. Andrews!!!!
