I'm not an expert, but I don't think I've heard of Valium for spasms of any type. It's in the same category of drugs as Xanax and mainly used to stop anxiety/panic, help with relaxation...and would probably cause drowsiness like the Xanax. I don't always do what I'm told because I've had so many weird drug reactions, but has your dr. ever recommended something like Miralax on a daily basis? And, I've heard Bentyl is good for spasms, but I think it's usually spasms related to diarrhea... Maybe the dr. is trying to help her "gut"/colon relax??? Wish I had more information. Blessings!
