I had heard about flaxseed and how good it was for you, and happened to walk right past a box of it at Walmart about 3 weeks ago. On a whim I bought some and started sprinkling it on my oatmeal every morning. I was surprised at the good taste of it. It's really gives my oatmeal a good flavor. The best part about it is that my IBS symptoms of horrible gas build up and tendency toward C have completely made a turnaround. I have not had any gas whatsoever with anything in over 2 weeks (other than with beans which send me over the edge!). I am so incredibly impressed. My BM's have been over twice a week, which is very unusual for me. I had been taking Heather's acacia, but never could get it regulated for me. The gas I got from it was just awful. I finally quit it a couple of weeks before I happened upon the flaxseed.
I know we are all always looking for something to help, so I thought I would post about this flaxseed. I don't know if they are all the same or not, but I plan on sticking with this brand since it has changed things for me so much. (It is called Hodgson Mill Milled Flax Seed and is in an burnt orange-ish kind of box at Walmart.) It says you can add it to salads, cereals, smoothies, juices and yogurt just to name a few if you aren't an oatmeal person. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
